FAQ

Do I need to adopt more than one rabbit? Won’t they get lonely?

That is totally up to you. Your rabbit will be just fine as a single pet. They are social animals, however, you will need to get them spayed/neutered and THEN go through a bonding process. Rabbits are territorial once they reach maturity and you’ll need to provide separate enclosures to ensure their safety until they have bonded. If you choose to only adopt one rabbit, rest assured that your love will be all that they need.

Can I just come by and see the rabbits?

We are a CLOSED RABBITRY which means we do not allow the public to come view or handle any of our rabbits or bunnies. We do this for the health of our rabbits and ourselves. Please see our Events page to schedule a time when we can come to you for an educational gathering.

My rabbit’s nails are long. What should I do?

It’s a good idea to learn how to trim your rabbit’s nails using cat nail clippers. There are many youtube videos and informational sites that are able to address this. Your exotic veterinarian can also do this for a fee. If you would like a lesson, reach out to us and we would be happy to give you some pointers.

Why is some of the rabbit magic fertilizer a powder and some is in pellet form?

We grind the rabbit poop (pellets) to make it easier for people to manage with indoor/potted gardens. For those who have outdoor gardens, we recommend the pellet fertilizer because it is more cost effective. If you have an outdoor garden and still want the ground version of the fertilizer, let us know. We are happy to fill special orders. Remember, a little goes a long way.

Can I give my rabbit fresh greens and carrots?

It depends. If your rabbit is younger than 6 months old, I do not recommend fresh greens because their gut flora isn’t mature enough to handle it. When your rabbit is 6 months old you can start to introduce greens SLOWLY into their diet. If you notice soft, smelly poop stuck to their fur or butt, stop giving them the greens and feed hay and water until their droppings are normal again. Add a bit more the next time you give it to them.

CARROTS can be given as a special treat every now and then if your rabbit is 6 months old and older.
